Adam Allan B.S.A. — Francis — The Shocked Pope

Dear Pope Francis,

You recently said you were “shocked” at the discovery of more than 1000(so far) indigenous children buried under Canadian “Residental Schools” formerly operated by the Catholic Church.

However your “shock” didn’t extend to an apology (or a rational) for the church’s actions.

I, for one, am not “shocked.” Because you are the “Godfather” of Religious “Murder Incorporated.”

Think I’m being too harsh? Hyberbolic? Not to mention “blasphemous?”*

Here are a few of your firm’s “accomplishments” that you will be familar with. Other “faithful” and non catholics, probably not. But it’s high time they were.

1. The Crusades. 1095–1291 An unsuccessful attempt to convert Arab countries to your “faith” at swordpoint. The fitting irony here is that it was your predecessor — Pope Clement — who, pressured by French King Phillip the 4th — excommunicated the major holy mercenary force.(The Knights Templar.)Who then were tortured and invited to sign confessions of their “sins.”

2. The Albigensian Crusade.

On July 21, 1209, Pope Innocent 3 “invited”(at swordpoint) all the Cathars (a non catholic religious sect) to assmble in the French City of Beziers. (Pronounced “Bez -e — ay”) When the General in charge informed his Popeliness that there were Women and Children present, the Pope’s reply was: “ Kill them all. God will know the innocents.”

3. Charlemange and the Saxons.

In October of 782, Charlemange, the “Holy” Roman Emperor, found a solution to convert the Saxon tribes to Catholicism. He beheaded 4500 in one day. Hands tied behind their backs. This was the Massacre of Veren.

4. The St. Batholemy Massacre

On the night on August 23–24 1572, the French King, fearing a coup by Huguenot (Protestant) forces ordered the most prominent of those leaders, then in Paris, assassinated.

This barbarity soon spread to the general populance, with Protestants, Women and Children included, being pulled from their homes and brutually murdered.

The slaughter, which claimed an estimated 30,OOO lives, lasted, largely in the provinces, for TWO WEEKS.

So, your holiness, wouldn’t it be benefical to all concerned, if you morphed your “shock” into contrition, transparency and explanation?

And maybe even an apology?

As one would expect from a truly compassionate religious leader?

*The term applied to those who criticize reglion after relgion has said it can’t be criticized.
